DJI ROMO 2 and Dyson R3 Nurovi are compelling because they attack different frustrations. ROMO 2 was presented globally in September 2026, with the ROMO P2 and ROMO A2 as the main configurations. DJI’s launch material listed European reference prices of €1,199 for the A2 and €1,299 for the P2, while order timing varies by market. Dyson has also unveiled the R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV, but availability reports differ by country. According to the company, it can respond to obstacles as thin as 2 mm, including cables and pet pads, and can detect transparent objects such as glass and mirrors. The mechanical upgrades are just as important. Robot legs are rated for a single step of about 4 cm and a two-stage obstacle of up to 8.5 cm. A LiDAR-guided arm swings through 123 degrees, reaches 7.8 cm farther outward and cleans 4.5 cm deeper under floating furniture than the previous generation. On carpet, a pressure plate creates a partial seal so the machine can use up to 36,000 Pa more effectively. The design therefore combines motor pressure with reduced air leakage rather than relying on a headline number alone.

3. R3 Nurovi focuses on understanding stains

The R3’s defining idea is to change its behavior after it discovers a mess. UV and Dyson’s green illumination reveal traces such as dried liquid, while a camera and AI are designed to distinguish nearly 200 household substances. The robot can choose repeated passes, inspect the same area again and continue only after the system decides that the stain has been removed.

Its microfiber wet roller extends toward the edge and is continuously supplied with clean water while contamination is scraped away. The dock uses Dyson’s distinctive bagless cyclonic approach for dry debris. Announced suction is 30,000 Pa, below ROMO 2’s peak figure, but pickup depends heavily on inlet sealing, brush contact, travel speed and carpet construction. First, the suction-number race will continue but may matter less. ROMO 2 and iRobot’s 2026 flagship both emphasize creating a better seal at the carpet, a sign that usable airflow and contact mechanics matter as much as peak pressure.
